Smart Deposit Address Modules Overview

Choose a WDK provider for deposit addresses, routing, and transfer tracking.

Smart Deposit Address (SDA) modules let an application discover deposit routes and create deposit addresses through a provider. A depositor sends an ordinary transfer to the address; the provider handles its supported routing and settlement flow.

Rows marked Community are developed and maintained independently by third-party contributors.

Provider custody and available operations differ. Review the provider's contract, activation expiry, and recovery permissions before displaying an address to a depositor.

Understand the shared interface

SDA providers extend SdaProtocol. Route discovery and address creation are required; quote, lookup, history, disable, derivation, renewal, and recovery operations depend on the provider. An optional method can throw UnsupportedOperationError when the provider does not implement it.

Register a compatible provider with wdk.registerProtocol() and retrieve it from an account with getSdaProtocol(). Some providers also support direct construction without a wallet account. Follow their usage pages for the exact constructor, credentials, and supported methods.

Discover routes at runtime rather than assuming a chain or asset is available. Preserve the address's chain, asset restrictions, destination, and any required memo when instructing a depositor. Address creation and deposit completion are separate events; use the provider's documented transfer-tracking flow to reconcile deliveries.
